I'm sure everyone has checked out the 2014 Coyote jerseys by now and I'm sure you have all noticed the green ribbon.  In case you were not already aware, this green ribbon is in memory of a brave girl who stole many hearts in Cambridge and surrounding areas.  I'm sure many of you know who I am speaking of when I say the name 'Kayla Baker'.  Please let your girls know why we are wearing a green ribbon on our jersey's this season.  Her cause was organ donation awareness and support.

Below is a link that tells a little more about her and her fight.

Kayla Baker

If someone should ask any of our girls it would be nice if they knew the answer.  I'm sure Kayla is smiling down on us.

Midget Coyotes Bring Home Bronze From Niagara PDF Print E-mail

Friday night's game for the Cambridge Midget Coyotes saw them facing the host team, Niagara Falls and a huge victory for the Coyotes with a score of 9-1.

Saturday morning the Coyotes faced the ever tough Eniskillen Express and lost after one bad inning as a result of some mental errors and the girls just couldn't battle back.

The third game had them facing Halton Hills, and the win went to the Coyotes, 4-2!

The fourth game was against Port Perry, who handed the Coyotes their second loss of the tournament with a score of 7-4.

With 3 teams sitting at 2-2, it came down to run differential to see who the 1st and 2nd seeded teams would be.

The Coyotes ended up in 1st place in their pool and would face the strong Eniskillen Express who finished 2nd in their pool, to see who would advance to the gold medal game or who would go to the bronze medal game.

A win was not in the cards for the Coyotes against Eniskillen and were mercied by the Express 10-0.

The Coyotes would have to play Halton Hills Hawks for the bronze, and play they did!!

The Coyotes have always enjoyed playing against Halton.  The coaching staff are part of a minority who are one of the best out there to play against! Their shortstop/pitcher is one of the best we've ever seen as far as sportsmanship goes.  Even though they were losing to the Coyotes, she held her head high, and always with a smile!!!

Our Cambridge Midget Coyotes brought home Bronze with an 11-3 win over the Hawks!
